Sevil Ozisik’s practice focuses on the immigration-related needs of employers in a full spectrum of industries including, finance, hospitality, travel, manufacturing, energy, multi-media and technology. Sevil either partners with human resource personnel or manages their foreign national personnel program entirely, in obtaining temporary and permanent (green card) visas for business, scientific, managerial and executive personnel. Through her substantial experience with all work-related visa classifications (H-1B, H-3, L-1A, L-1B, E-1, E-2, E-3, J-1, TN, O, P), she is able to provide both short-term and long-term strategic guidance in the employer/employee relationship. Her representation also includes that of outstanding researchers, extraordinary ability foreign nationals and those seeking national interest waivers. Sevil has been active in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and also a member of the American Bar Association. She has participated in the New York City Bar Associations’ pro bono programs to assist battered women and children.

Sevil is an active member of Turkish American business community. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TACCI)’s since its establishment in 2002. She has served for two terms as the board secretary and most recently completed her two years as the president of TACCI after being elected by the general assembly consisting of the most successful executives of Turkish American companies established in the U.S. Her most noteworthy Chamber programs include a partnership between Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and TACCI naming Turkey as the VIP partner country in 2009 to increase business and investments between Turkey and New York City, Renewable Energy Conference at the Levin Institute, Buffalo Trade Mission, Conference on the Implementation of Continuous Process Improvement with Lean Six Sigma, Adana Economical Forum in Turkey on the topic of The Business Opportunities in the U.S. with the participation of Mr. Sam Natapoff (Senior Advisor to the Governor of New York State for International Commerce and Development), and most recently, the Annual Power Dinner held together with Globond International. She is now acting as TACCI’s vice president as of March 2010.

Sevil is also an elected executive board member of the American Regional Committee of the World Turkish Business Council (DTIK). The World Turkish Business Council is founded by DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) and by TOBB (Turkish Union of Chambers), as a part of DEIK. World Turkish Business Council aims to gather all dispersed networks of Turkish entrepreneurs and successful Turkish professionals. The president of the DTIK is Mr. M. Rifat Hisarciklioglu and the president of the High Advisory Board of DTIK is Mr. Muhtar Kent (Chairman of the Coca Cola Company). The main goal of “World Turkish Business Council” is to boost the commercial and economical relations among the Turkish business community settled outside Turkey.

  • Assisted with Visa Amendments for Foreign Tech Group
    • Represented HHS Technology Group, a nationwide leading software and solutions company serving the needs of commercial enterprises and government agencies. Assisted with corporate restructuring-related immigrant and nonimmigrant visa amendments for the all-foreign technology group, including but not limited to: an L-1 blanket petition amendment; I-140 immigrant petition amendments; new H-1B, L-1B blanket visas; and new PERM applications.
  • Obtained Investor Visa for Startup Company Founder
    • Represented FISCH, a Swedish swimwear designer with a focus on sustainable fabrics (such as Econyl—a fully regenerative nylon fibre made from abandoned fishing nets) in response to the destruction of the coral reefs in the Caribbean. Aided the startup company and its founder in obtaining an E-2 Investor visa as well as with general business planning.
  • Aided in Securing Trainee/Manager Visas and Green Card Application
    • Represented Panache North America Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of a UK lingerie company with products sold in 53 countries, in obtaining a J-1 trainee visa, an L-1 multinational manager visa, and completing an EB13C multinational manager green card application.
  • Successfully Secured Outstanding Researcher Green Card
    • Represented Riverside Research Institute, a not-for-profit organization chartered to advance scientific research for the benefit of the U.S. government and in the public interest. Successfully filed and secured approval of an Outstanding Researcher green card application for a German national in less than a week.
  • Advisor Regarding L-1A Petitions and Extensions
    • Represented Rosenthal Sambonet USA Ltd., a U.S. subsidiary of an Italian manufacturer of high-quality, luxury items for the tabletop and kitchen (for both the catering industry and the home). Advised and assisted with filing L-1A petitions and extensions.
  • Successfully Filed Applications and Petitions for Consulting Firm
    • Represented Community Resource Exchange Inc., a nonprofit consulting firm that provides the strategies and tools needed to build sustainable, high-performing organizations that improve people’s lives and drive social change. Successfully filed a TN visa application for its Canadian employee, a PERM based green card application, an I-140 petition, and an I-485 adjustment application.
  • Obtained E-2 Executive Manager Visa in Korea
    • Represented MCM Products USA Inc., a subsidiary of the MCM Worldwide leather luxury goods brand, in applying for an E-2 executive manager visa in Korea.
