On December 13, 2024, Partner Ken Rashbaum spoke at the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) New York Regional Conference hosted and sponsored by Fordham University. The SCCE offers local compliance education for practitioners in a variety of locations across the globe and features updates on the latest regulatory requirements, enforcement trends, risk management best practices, and strategies for developing and maintaining effective compliance and ethics programs.

Ken spoke on the topic of “Ethics and Compliance in the Age of Technology’s Constant Evolution: Business, Regulatory and Statutory Data Privacy and Security Trends.” His presentation covered topics such as:

  • An overview of business imperatives in privacy, including privacy and cybersecurity provisions in service, license, and other agreements with business partners.
  • Evolving statutory requirements, regulatory guidance, and government and industry standards.
  • A critical but often overlooked element in technology transactions: cyber insurance as an essential component for doing business and the state of the cyber insurance market.
  • Adapting to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain.
  • Trends in advertising, financial services, media, and healthcare technologies and their impact on privacy and cybersecurity standards.
  • Enforcement and litigation trends.
