On February 20, 2024, Partner Ken Rashbaum was a featured speaker for the webinar, “New SEC Cyber Disclosure & CISA Reporting Rules Pose Challenges: Defining the Regulatory Risks & Exposures to Lawyers, Firm Management & Clients.” The webinar, which was hosted by Global Cyber Risk Advisors Corp. (GCRA), was structured as a “virtual fireside chat.”

The session touched on how it’s one thing for practitioners to keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes and anticipated future enforcement proceedings in their unique areas of practice, but it’s quite another when those rule changes impact law firm governance. From the SEC’s new cybersecurity disclosure rules to the reporting requirements under the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act of 2022, how, when, and what to report is and will be a challenge.

Ken and the other panelists explored how to navigate these recent regulatory cybersecurity disclosure and reporting risks and challenges to law firms. Other speakers included Claudia Rast (Shareholder, Butzel) and Joseph Brunsman (Founder & President, Brunsman Advisory Group).
