On October 29, 2025, Partner Ian Shane was a speaker for a CLE program series hosted by the New York City Bar Association. A three-part series titled, “Tax Updates 2025: What Lawyers Need to Know,” the program explored the significant tax law changes under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) and their impact on tax practitioners and their clients.

The program was led by a variety of experienced tax practitioners, offering insights and guidance on navigating the OBBBA’s updates and their implications for a variety of clients, from multinational corporations to closely held businesses to real estate investors.

Ian spoke at a session focused on international tax issues, including changes related to:

  • Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFCs)
  • Foreign-Derived Intangible Income (FDII)
  • Base Erosion Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT) Rates
