Managing Partner Roger Barton Featured Panelist on Mid-Market Spinoff Firms for ALM Law.com Webcast

On August 29^th, Managing Partner Roger Barton spoke as a panelist for a webcast sponsored by ALM Law.com Pro Mid-Market called “Mid-Market Spinoffs: Opportunities and Risks When Breaking Off from Bigger Firms.”

The webcast delved into “one of the great success stories over the past 15 years” for mid-market law firms, i.e., the so-called “spinoff firm” made up of talented lawyers who broke away from much larger firms and ventured out on their own. By being able to offer high-caliber lawyering in a much leaner and less bureaucratic environment, spinoff firms have been able to attract large clients and carve out strong market share. The webcast asked panelists to draw on their personal experiences to discuss the keys to breaking away and quickly succeeding, while also highlighting the potential pitfalls spinoff firms should be wary of.
