On March 11, four members of Barton’s Financial Services team attended AdvisorHub’s annual “RIA Masterclass,” an event where AdvisorHub CEO Tony Sirianni (a former advisor and founder of two RIA firms) along with other industry leaders taught a masterclass on creating and running a successful independent practice. The masterclass covered topics such as formation, M&A, practice acquisitions, and growth in the industry.
The event also included professionals who work closely with and provide services to the financial advisory industry. The Barton Financial Services team regularly counsels registered investment advisors, broker-dealers, and financial firms around the country on legal issues related to M&A, recruiting, unfair competition, protection of trade secrets, breach of contract claims, and restrictive covenants. Our team also advises on practice management, advisor transitions, and succession planning.
Barton members in attendance included: James Heavey, Operations Partner; Michael Ward, Partner; Joan Stumpf, Counsel; and Charlene Valdez Warner, Senior Associate.
