“Is GDPR Article 48 a Catch-22 for Litigants in the U.S.?” – Partner Kenneth N. Rashbaum Addresses the ABA Section of International Law Annual Conference in NYC

Ken Rashbaum will speak on litigation issues in the new European Union data protection law the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), with a focus on potential conflicts with the newly enacted US statute the CLOUD Act, at the ABA Section of International Law Annual Conference in New York on April 19, 2018. As Policy and Government Affairs Officer of the Section of International Law, Ken recently addressed the Section leadership on state efforts to pass data protection laws and regulations modeled after GDPR, in the wake of efforts by California and Facebook’s statement that it intends to roll out certain GDPR protections world-wide. He will also lead the discussion on Section policy at the Section Council Meeting on April 21.
