STEVEN S. KRANE
Technology Counsel

Steven S. Krane, Technology Counsel at Barton, brings a unique skill set to clients of the firm who seek expert legal advice on electronic discovery, electronic data management and systems integration. Steven is an experienced attorney but has also devoted nearly a decade to leading a regional network engineering and systems integration firm. Steven’s practice concentrates in the area of electronic discovery, and he specializes in the development and implementation of electronic discovery litigation readiness plans designed to enable companies to comply with the fast-changing electronic discovery rules.

As an attorney, Steven has handled litigation matters at all levels of the state and federal courts. In 1998 Steven was asked to become CEO of The NetSys Group, Inc., a technology solution provider that assists its clients in the design, implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide computer network systems and environments. During his tenure, NetSys provided services to public and private companies including insurance companies, banks, hedge funds, private equity firms, law firms and financial service firms, among others. Steven, who is also a Certified Public Accountant, began his career with Deloitte & Touche before joining BB&P.

Steven’s knowledge of the law and technology enables him to bridge the often challenging gap between the legal requirements and the technological execution and implications of electronic discovery. In his role as Technology Counsel, Steven serves as liaison for the firm, its business alliance partners and the client. He is exceptionally qualified to ensure compliance with electronic data requests in the most cost effective and efficient manner possible.
