Trusts and Estates Counsel
Joanne R. Sternlieb advises clients on estate planning and trust and estate administration. She has extensive experience representing high-net worth individuals, as well as those individuals with less significant wealth. Before starting her own practice in 2002, Joanne spent over 10 years at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in the Personal Planning (Trusts & Estates) Department. As an associate, and then Counsel, in the Personal Planning Department at Simpson Thacher, Joanne advised clients on all aspects of estate planning including gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, charitable giving techniques, and the administration of trusts and estates. In 1999 she moved from Simpson Thacher to Neuberger Berman Trust Company, N.A. as a Vice President and Senior Estate Planner.
Joanne is a member of the Trusts, Estates & Surrogates Court Committee, and past member of the Committee on Estate and Gift Taxation of the New York City Bar Association and is a member of the American Bar Association, and New York City Bar Association.
