Legal Background
Randall L. Rasey is an Associate with BB&P's Commercial Litigation department. He has represented a wide array of large national and international companies as well as their executives.
In particular, he has represented successful recording and visual artists in copyright infringement actions and contract disputes and copyright owners with respect to license agreements. Randy has also prosecuted and defended claims of employment discrimination; litigated commercial lease and real estate valuation disputes; and represented foreign businesses in commercial disputes with US residents. He has also represented and counseled clients regarding consumer marketing and promotions and has substantial experience in large-scale document production, primarily in class action litigation.
Before joining BB&P, Randy practiced at McCarter & English LLP, where he worked on complex and class action litigation, and Fischbein Badillo Wagner Harding LLP, now Cozen O'Connor, where he practiced general commercial litigation. Randy is also Legal Advisor to MantraMarketing, LLC [www.mantramarketing.com], a marketing firm specializing in transitioning Indian businesses to the North American marketplace as well as a member of the Legal Advisory Team of Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn, Inc., a not-for-profit community development organization.
Representative Matters
Successfully defended real estate consortium in litigation of fraud claims against major bank, obtaining favorable interpretation of UCC provisions on summary judgment motion, leading to multi-million dollar settlement by bank.
Defended major newspaper in series of lawsuits by would-be sweepstakes winners after printing error, obtaining resolution of all lawsuits in favor of newspaper.
Represented major recording artist in prosecution of copyright and trademark infringement claims.
Defended retailer at jury trial of personal injury action, obtaining favorable jury verdict.
Represented net lessee of large commercial building in arbitration with building owner to establish building's value for purposes of establishing rent.

He also serves as legal advisor to Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn, Inc., a not-for-profit community development organization and as a volunteer arbitrator in New York City Small Claims Courts.
